Chassis Guard Application Guide
XTROLL Chassis Guard – Your Complete Application & Care Guide
If you love off-roading, beach trips, or coastal adventures, protecting your vehicle’s underbody is essential. XTROLL Chassis Guard forms a tough, self-healing clear coating that shields metal surfaces from rust caused by salt, sand, and moisture. Here’s how to get the most out of it.
Stop your 4WD from rusting away.
The underbody is exposed to some of the harshest conditions your vehicle faces. Rust and corrosion will quietly eat away at tour 4WD, leading to costly repairs.
- Long-lasting corrosion protection
- Clear coating that repairs minor scratches
- Perfect for beach, coastal, and off-road use
- Suitable for 4WDs, utes, caravans, and trailers
1. Surface Preparation
Good results start with a clean surface. Preparation is key for a coating that lasts.
Clean Thoroughly: Wash away mud, dirt, and grease using detergent, then rinse with fresh water. Degrease stubborn areas as needed.
Dry Completely: Water reduces adhesion. Make sure the underbody is fully dry before applying the coating.
Mask Sensitive Areas: Protect parts you don’t want sprayed, such as sensors, wiring connectors, brake components, and painted body panels.
2. Applying XTROLL Chassis Guard
Once your vehicle is clean and dry, it’s time to coat the underbody.
Even Coverage: Spray consistently over all surfaces. Avoid pooling in one area.
Optional Second Coat: For extra durability, apply a second coat 4–6 hours after the first.
Drying Time: Touch-dry in 6–12 hours depending on temperature and humidity.
Clean-Up: Use mineral turps for cleaning tools and removing overspray.
Coverage Tips: 1 litre covers approximately 25 m² on clean surfaces. Most 4WDs need 1 litre, while rough or heavy vehicles may require 2 litres.
3. After Beach or Off-Road Trips
Maintaining your coating ensures it continues to protect your underbody.
- Rinse with clean water: Remove salt and sand.
- Avoid harsh cleaners: Detergents, degreasers, and solvents can weaken the coating.
- Inspect regularly: Look for wear or damage after heavy off-road use.
- Reapply if needed: Keep protection intact on worn areas.
4. Storage & Safety
- Store upright in a cool, dry place away from heat
- Seal container tightly when not in use
- Dispose of empty containers responsibly
Tip for Maximum Protection
Apply XTROLL Chassis Guard after a full clean and before your next adventure. A well-prepared underbody can stay protected for up to 24 months or longer.
