PMX145 Compliance Information

PMX 145 – Regulatory & Compliance Information

Product Classification
PMX 145 is a fuel biocide formulated for use in diesel, biodiesel, and unleaded petrol (ULP) storage systems. It is intended for microbial control and long-term contamination prevention in static and operational fuel storage environments.

Intended Use

PMX 145 is designed for use in:

  • Diesel fuel storage tanks
  • Unleaded petrol (ULP) storage tanks
  • Biodiesel and biodiesel blend storage
  • Fleet, mining, marine, agricultural, and standby power fuel systems

The product inactivates microbial contamination and inhibits re-growth when applied according to supplier guidance.

Mechanism of Action (Technical Summary)

PMX 145 remains suspended throughout the fuel phase, enabling uniform distribution. Upon application:

  • Active microorganisms are inactivated
  • Biomass aggregates and may settle for physical removal
  • Residual biocide remains present in fuel
  • Ongoing biostatic control reduces the risk of recontamination

Fuel Specification Compatibility

PMX 145 is formulated to preserve both diesel and unleaded petrol fuel quality. Independently verified across both fuel families:

Standard Description Result Status
ASTM D975 Diesel Fuel Specification Meets requirements Pass
ASTM D4814 Unleaded Petrol (ULP) Specification Meets requirements Pass
ASTM D2699 / D2700 Octane Rating (RON / MON) – ULP No reduction Pass
ASTM D6469 Microbial Contamination – diesel & ULP <10 CFU/mL Pass

Treated fuel remains within applicable diesel and ULP specification limits when used as directed.

Safety & Handling

  • Classified as non-hazardous for handling and storage
  • No dangerous goods transport classification
  • Suitable for on-site use without specialised chemical handling infrastructure

Always follow local workplace safety procedures and SDS guidance.

Long-Term Performance

Fuel testing and field use indicate:

  • 5+ years microbial protection in conventional diesel
  • 2+ years microbial protection in biodiesel blends
  • Ongoing biostatic protection in treated ULP, subject to storage and water-ingress control

Performance duration depends on storage conditions, water ingress control, and system maintenance.

Regulatory Positioning

PMX 145:

  • Does not alter diesel or ULP fuel classification
  • Does not push fuel outside ASTM D975 (diesel) or ASTM D4814 (ULP) compliance
  • Is suitable for inclusion in fuel management and contamination prevention programs
