Toyota injectors tested, values restored with CRD Fuel Enhancer
How a Toyota Troopy V8 Avoided a $7000 Injector Bill
Being quoted around the $7000 mark for a new set of injectors on a Toyota V8 can be a rude shock. In most cases it’s only 2 or 3 injectors causing all the trouble — and in actual fact, they’re usually not damaged at all and don’t need replacing!
The quote: around $7000 for a new set of injectors. The result after CRD Fuel Enhancer: injectors 4 and 7 restored to acceptable values — no replacement needed.
The Problem: Toyota Troopy Injectors Flagged for Replacement
The owner of a 70 Series Toyota Troopy with 155,000km on the clock had the injector values tested at the local Toyota dealer. The report showed injectors 4 and 7 had high values, and the dealer recommended they be replaced — a job quoted at around $7000.
The Alternative: Clean Before You Replace
While researching new injectors versus reconditioned ones, the owner decided to try a quality injector cleaner first, to see if the problem could be addressed before it got any worse.
After adding CRD Fuel Enhancer to every tank, the injectors didn’t get any worse — and were retested after 15,000km. The problem injectors, 4 and 7, showed great improvement and did not need to be replaced. The CRD Fuel Enhancer had removed the fouling deposits and restored the even spray pattern.
The Proof: Before & After Toyota Injector Readings
Here are the actual injector feedback readings taken before and after using CRD Fuel Enhancer on the Toyota LandCruiser Troopy 2008 VDJ (155,000km). Injectors 4 and 7, highlighted, were the problem cylinders.

At a glance (hot readings):
Injector 4: 2.6 → 0.7
Injector 7: 1.9 → -1.3

The Result: Injectors Restored, Not Replaced
When faced with the possibility of having to replace injectors, it’s always a good idea to see how serious the problem really is. In this case, the Toyota LandCruiser Troopy VDJ injectors were restored to an acceptable level — and even the dealership doing the testing was impressed. Injector values can be restored to near-new readings after running CRD Fuel Enhancer.
This isn’t a one-off. We saw the same result on a 4-cylinder Hilux — see our Hilux D4D injector case study — and you can read more about how CRD Fuel Enhancer works.
