Description
Marine Diesel Stabiliser is a fuel stabiliser and biocide that keeps stored boat diesel fresh and ready to run. It kills diesel bug and prevents re-contamination, controls water and corrosion, and cleans injectors of gum, sludge and carbon. It suits standard diesel, biodiesel and ethanol blends. Add it when you fill or refill the tank.
The marine diesel fuel stabiliser keeps stored boat diesel fresh and stable. Stored fuel breaks down over time. Because water, oxidation and microbes attack it, you get blocked injectors and hard starting. This stabiliser stops that breakdown before it starts.
It also kills diesel bug outright and prevents it returning. In addition, it controls moisture, reduces corrosion and disperses gum and sludge. As a result, your fuel system stays clean and your engine starts reliably.
The marine diesel fuel stabiliser suits standard diesel, biodiesel and modern ethanol blends. You simply add it when you fill or refill the tank. After that, let it mix through the fuel system.
- Keep stored or seasonal fuel fresh
- Kill and prevent diesel bug
- Protect injectors from water and corrosion
- Clean gum, sludge and carbon deposits
Whether you store your boat or run it often, treated fuel protects your injectors and fuel system. It is easy to use and economical. Choose the marine diesel fuel stabiliser as part of your marine maintenance routine.
Marine Diesel Stabiliser — keep stored fuel fresh
CEM’s Marine Diesel Stabiliser is a premium diesel fuel stabiliser designed and tested for marine use — boats running standard diesel, biodiesel or modern ethanol blends.
Its concentrated formula makes it easy to use. Simply add Marine Diesel Stabiliser when you fill or refill your tank and let it mix through the fuel system. This keeps stored fuel fresh and stops diesel breaking down over time.
Why fuel condition matters
For boat owners, fuel condition is critical. Poor fuel quality, water contamination and algae growth quickly block injectors, cut performance and lead to costly repairs. This product works to prevent those problems before they start.
Water in diesel engines causes serious issues. Marine Diesel Stabiliser controls moisture, reduces corrosion and stops biological growth forming in the tank. It also cleans existing systems by breaking down sludge, gum and carbon.
The result is a cleaner-running, more reliable engine that performs consistently at sea. Used regularly, it protects your engine, injectors and fuel system long-term — an essential part of your marine maintenance routine.

Marine Diesel Stabiliser dosage
- Standard dose (1:1200): 1 litre treats 1,200 litres of diesel.
- Double dose (1:600): 1 litre treats 600 litres of diesel — for badly contaminated tanks and long-term storage, to prevent diesel oxidation.
Cworthy Marine — 1991 Fairways 36

1991 Fairways 36 that had a huge fuel bug issue in both tanks. After getting a price for both tanks to be flushed, to get rid of the fuel bug and picking myself off the floor, I decided to add FTC to full tanks of fuel.
The FTC broke down the bug, and separated it from the fuel. This made it very easy to remove the bug contamination, by draining the bottom of the Racor primary filter approx. every 5 hours of running. By the second tank of fuel (with FTC) added there was very little to be drained and now it’s completely clean.

Phillip Mungoven — CAT 3116

I had a problem with my starboard engine (CAT 3116) blowing smoke. I ran the FTC Decarbonizer through three tanks of fuel and it seems to have fixed the problem. Would recommend it to anyone — great product.
